Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which harrow do I need for my arena?

Before making a buying decisions, please answer the following:

  • What will you be pulling your harrow with?
  • What size is your tractor or ATV (horsepower, 4WD, etc.)?
  • What type of footing or ground do you have?
  • What discipline do you do or what events do you have in your arena?
  • What problems are you currently having, if any?
  • How do you water your arena?

We have eight harrow options available.

2. What does Red Master Harrow’s paddle wheel do?

Our paddle wheel has two functions, the first being that it breaks up clods. The second is that it adds air to the footing. Picture a paddle wheel on a boat and how it stirs the water — that is how our paddle wheel functions. Our paddle wheel does a great job in restoring air to your footing and also provides a cush that is second to none.

3. What does the float pan do?

Red Master Harrow’s float pan is engineered to smooth and level your footing to give you a more finished look. This attachment is designed to float so when you turn and your tractor wants to dip, the float pan will not dig into your footing.

4. Do I need hydraulics on my tractor for the Red Master Harrow?

You do not have to have hydraulics. Our harrow works off the three-point and does not require hydraulics. However, we do have some attachments that can be ordered with hydraulic cylinders instead of manual if you so desire.

5. What is your warranty on your harrow?

Red Master Harrows offers lifetime warranties on all of our frames. Bearings, paddle wheels, float pans, tires wheels have a 1-year warranty. Tips and teeth are wear items and will wear differently in each arena.

6. Can I use a water tank kit to water my arena?

Water tank kits for harrows have been misunderstood and people often assume that when adding a water tank kit to a harrow, they will be able to water their arena. This is not accurate for Red Master or any other harrow. We all basically use the same pumps and nozzles. You will not be able to put down enough water with this attachment to be your sole source of watering. Water tank kits are best used for getting dry spots or dust control on an indoor arena. We want to make sure everyone understands the limitations of water tank kits.
